My birdbath arrived today, and it is absolutely beautiful. The Deer Isle granite, along with the shape and natural character of the stone, is exactly what I had hoped for.

I initially planned to place it on a taller pedestal, but it looked much more natural on a lower one. It fits into the garden perfectly, as though it has always been there.

The birds love it, too. Within hours, a juvenile cardinal took the first plunge, followed by a catbird, a blue jay who stopped to inspect it, and a titmouse splashing away. It is rare for birds to accept a new birdbath so quickly, but there seems to be a visitor every time I look outside.

I just love it when something is better than expected! I bought the 24” granite bird bath and as my husband and I opened the box we both sat back and said “WOW” at the same time. It’s huge and smooth as silk on the inside. We put it on top of an antique water vessel I bought in Thailand. It took two days for the birds to find it but now it’s like it’s alway been a part of the garden. I’m coming back for another one for my back yard.

The birdbath is beautiful, the size is just right and holds enough water to make it attractive to the birds. I’m delighted. The only change I would make is having a granite pedestal. Maybe someday I’ll find one.
